Refloat
Rescue a stuck project
Your project has run aground. Two weeks to find out why and get it moving again.
Projects stall for ordinary reasons: the scope kept growing, a supplier is not delivering, the budget has gone and the end is not in sight, or the person running it left. Refloat brings in an independent lead full time for two weeks to work out what is really wrong, agree a reset with you and your suppliers, and get the project moving again.
Is this you?
- A website, app, system or software project that is late or over budget
- A supplier relationship that has turned into an argument
- A system that has been bought and paid for but is not being used
- An owner who is no longer sure whether to carry on or stop
What happens, and when
Days 1 to 3, diagnose
I read the contracts, plans and invoices and talk to your team and your suppliers separately, to find out what is done, what is not, and why.
Days 4 to 6, decide
The options laid out honestly: finish as planned, cut the scope, change supplier, or stop and save what is left. Each comes with a cost and a timescale.
Days 7 to 10, reset
We agree the way forward with you and the suppliers, reset the plan and governance, and get the next piece of work delivered.
What you keep at the end
- An honest diagnosis of what went wrong, in plain English
- Costed options, with a clear recommendation
- A reset plan agreed with your suppliers
- A weekly rhythm and simple reporting so it does not drift again
- The project moving again, with a check-in 30 days later
A straight answer, whatever it is
Sometimes the right answer is to stop. If that is the case, you will hear it in week one, with what to recover and what to say to the supplier.
Price
£4,000
plus VAT and expenses
Two weeks full time, invoiced in two weekly instalments of £2,000, in advance.
Limits and flexibility
One project and its main supplier. Refloat delivers the diagnosis and the reset, not the rest of the project. If you want help seeing it through, extra weeks are £2,000 each, agreed at the end of week one.
What it isn't
Refloat is not legal advice. If a supplier dispute needs a solicitor, I will say so early and give them a clear account of the facts.
Fixed price, without locking either of us in
A free scoping call first
Every package starts with a free 30-minute call. If the work is bigger than the package, you will hear that before you buy. If it is smaller, I will quote less.
A midpoint check
Halfway through, we review progress together. If more time is needed, extra weeks are £2,000, or £400 a day for a few days, agreed there and then. No surprises in the final week.
Your part
I will need people, access and information within two working days of asking. Delays on your side extend the time at the day rate.
Tailored when it needs to be
Any package can be adjusted to fit, and a part-time tech lead arrangement can carry the work on afterwards.
