Shipshape
The tech MOT
Know exactly where your tech stands, what it costs and what to fix first.
Most businesses add systems, subscriptions and suppliers one at a time, and nobody ever steps back to look at the whole picture. Shipshape is that step back. In five days you get an independent check of everything your business runs on, and a plain-English plan for the next twelve months.
Is this you?
- Businesses with 5 to 150 staff that have not had an independent look at their IT in years
- Owners who sign the invoices but are not sure what they are paying for
- Anyone about to spend money on tech, renew a contract or change IT company
What I look at
- Spend: every IT, software, cloud and telecoms cost, and what is actually used
- Suppliers and contracts: renewal dates, notice periods and whether you are on the right deal or tier
- Security: passwords and sign-in, backups, updates, email protection and who has access to what
- Systems and data: what runs where, what is ageing and what would stop the business if it failed
- Devices and network: laptops, Wi-Fi, firewalls and connections between sites
- Phone lines: anything still on analogue or ISDN lines that will need to move
- AI and new tools: what staff already use, and where it could genuinely help
What happens, and when
Kick-off
A call to agree scope, and a short checklist of bills, contracts and logins to gather.
On site
One or two days with the people who use the systems every day.
Analysis
Everything checked, costed and written up in plain English.
Walk-through
A 90-minute session with you to go through the findings and the plan.
What you keep at the end
- A Shipshape report, with each area rated red, amber or green
- Your top risks, in order, with what each would cost you if it happened
- Savings found, with the estimated annual figure for each
- A costed 12-month plan: what to do, in what order, roughly what it costs and who should do it
- A 90-minute walk-through session
Price
£2,000
plus VAT and expenses
Five days of work over two to three weeks, invoiced on delivery of the report.
Limits and flexibility
Covers up to 150 staff and three sites. Bigger businesses are quoted after the scoping call. If something needs a closer look, extra days are £400 each, agreed before they are used.
What it isn't
Shipshape finds and prioritises the work. It does not include fixing things, a penetration test or a certification audit. Your existing IT company can usually carry out the fixes, and the plan is written so they can.
Fixed price, without locking either of us in
A free scoping call first
Every package starts with a free 30-minute call. If the work is bigger than the package, you will hear that before you buy. If it is smaller, I will quote less.
A midpoint check
Halfway through, we review progress together. If more time is needed, extra weeks are £2,000, or £400 a day for a few days, agreed there and then. No surprises in the final week.
Your part
I will need people, access and information within two working days of asking. Delays on your side extend the time at the day rate.
Tailored when it needs to be
Any package can be adjusted to fit, and a part-time tech lead arrangement can carry the work on afterwards.
